Rolls Royce has finally released the Ghost
Do we get more information than we already knew? Well, perhaps more detail is the best way to view it, rather than any great revelations. Rolls Royce – even though they weren’t happy at the Ghost being referred to as the ‘Baby’ Rolls Royce – define the RR Ghost as ‘A smaller and more affordable’ Rolls Royce.
This is the new top dog of the Jaguar XK family: the XKR-S GT. Built to celebrate 25 years of Jaguar ‘R’ models, the road-legal GT carries a host of track-focused modifications: there’s carbon aerodynamic aids, chassis tweaks, and the promise of a sub-7min 40sec Nurburgring lap time. A regular XKR-S manages 7min 50sec around the 'Ring in comparison.

But ‘OTT’ Jaguars have not been much in evidence for a long time. Nothing loud and wild has come out of Jaguar for as long as we can remember, probably in deference to their customer base, which has always been on the ‘Traditional’ side. But Jaguars lend themselves to some ‘pimping’ and pushing of the boundaries, and Jaguar have decided to do just that with a one-off Jaguar XKR – the Jaguar XKR Goodwood Special.
